2026 ALPINERS’ SQUADS REVEALED
The ITM Alpiners have unveiled their men's and women's squads for the 2026 Premier Hockey League, assembling a blend of international experience, emerging Under-21 talent and established performers as the franchise prepares to compete for domestic honours.
With the Premier Hockey League returning in November, the Alpiners will once again represent the strength of the South, bringing together talent from across the Mainland for Aotearoa's premier domestic hockey competition.
The 2026 squads feature a strong contingent of young players alongside experienced campaigners, with both teams looking to make their mark in a revamped competition culminating in finals weekend in Christchurch.
The men's squad features 23 players, including a number of exciting young prospects who have already attracted attention through Hockey New Zealand's high-performance pathway.
Among the players to watch are Baxter Mason, Fynn Harrington, Ryan Caldwell, Fergus Oberlin-Brown and Mitchell Suddaby, all named in the 2026 New Zealand Under-21 men's squad. Their selection highlights the depth of emerging talent available to the Alpiners and provides an opportunity to test themselves alongside more experienced players in a high-performance environment.
They will be joined by familiar names including Louis Beckert, Benji Culhane, Sam Lane, Charlie Morrison, Joe Morrison, Gus Nelson and Patrick Ward.
The women's squad is equally exciting.
The group includes established performers such as Bella Ambrosius, Rosie Bedford, Anneka Calder, Jenna-Rae McIntyre, Tessa Reid, Annabelle Schneideman, Mezzy Surridge and Britt Wang, alongside a collection of players looking to take the next step in their hockey careers.
Several players also bring valuable experience from the national development pathway. Nina Murphy, Cara Morrison and Julia Kerstin have all been named in Hockey New Zealand's 2026 Under-21 women's squad, reinforcing the Alpiners' commitment to developing emerging talent within the franchise.
With Rachael Lecky and Saasha Marsters providing goalkeeping options, the squad has depth across the park and a strong foundation to build its campaign around.
